A group of fire-fighters from Plattling, Bavaria will visit Melrose and the Borders for 5 days at the end of August.
The exchange will enhance the cultural and social relationship between the two areas and follows a visit by Melrose fire-fighters to Bavaria in March.
Pipers, Drummers, Drum Majors and Highland Dancers from all over Scotland and Northern England compete in the annual pipe band contest.
