BAAGS is a Borders charity supporting local adults and children who have Aspergers Syndrome and Autism. It is a group run by volunteer parents and people who work with autistic children. The aim of BAAGS is to make people aware of the condition and the effects it has on everyone, the teachers, the families, the neighbours etc. It is important for the person with autism to be allowed the opportunity to have the correct care and attention individually planned around them.
We need people to accept that Asperger syndrome and autism exist, that people with the condition live amongst us, are related to us, and they and their families need support, they deserve support, they deserve to enjoy their life. Anything anyone can do to help them enjoy their life should be done. Please help and support our Group. We meet on the last Monday of each month in The Kings Arms Hotel, Melrose at 7.30 pm. We offer a varied programme of informal evenings, organised speakers and social events. For further details please contact:-
