Ex-Melrosians Burns Supper

The Ex-Melrosians Burns Supper, attended by over 150 people, was held at Melrose Rugby Club on Saturday night. Chaired by Ex-Melrosian Eddie Weatherly, the evening started in traditional fashion with Michael Crawford toasting the haggis. Tam O'Shanter was superbly recited by Robbie Willocks followed by Chris "Pussy" Bells take on The Immortal Memory, delivered in his inimitable style. The Toast to the Lasses was proposed by Melrosian Scott Marjoribanks with Morag Beavon providing the entertaining reply. Kieran Cooney toasted Melrose Town and Trade which was replied to by Melrose RFC President Mike Dalgetty.The vote of thanks was proposed by Ex-Melrosian Clark Eaton-Turner. Piping duties were performed by Donald Swanston and Murray Nairn whilst Drew Scott entertained with songs.
