Melrosian Elect Appointed

Graeme Crawford was officially appointed as Melrosian elect for 2012 at The Corn Exchange Melrose.

A former pupil of Melrose Grammar School and Earlston High School, he is studying Sports Science at Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen. No stranger to the Festival, Graeme was a herald in the court in 2003 and took part in the rideout in 2006 following his elder brother David who was Melrosian that year.
As with many of his predecessors, Graeme is a keen all-round sportsman – a product of Melrose RFC’s age-group system, he currently plays for his university and Melrose 2nds when at home. He is also a keen golfer and bowler.
He is looking forward to the Festival and to represent Melrose at the other Border Festivals and Common Ridings.
Graemes RHM will be Ruaridh Nairn and LHM Scott Majoribanks.

A large crowd gathered to support Graeme for the ceremony where the Festival Queen and her court were also introduced to the assembled company.
