The draw for the Bell's Melrose Millennium Sevens took place in the clubrooms at the Greenyards. Melrose president's wife Margaret Pollock, with Melrose Sevens secretary's wife Margaret Bunyan made the draw which produced several exciting ties in the firsts round. All the guest teams plus Gala (holders), Heriots, (first division champions) and hosts Melrose were seeded. Needless to say, Melrose are hoping to repeat their success at Gala where they lifted the Netherdale Trophy.
